Who? What? Why? Where?

Ripple was founded by Elle Marie & James. The Ripple Café you know today blossomed from a pop up in the dining area of a Jamaican restaurant in Dorchester, MA in the summer of 2017. Elle was inspired by the show ‘Friends’, and dreamed of having a café since middle school. It wasn’t just the coffee that inspired her, although providing specialty, fair trade coffee was an important ethic from the beginning, it was also the atmosphere, the décor. It was the core essence of what made friends congregate in a café, to just…hang out. One of Ripple’s catch phrases, “Where Friends Meet”, pays homage to both the show that inspires her and the thing she loves most about Ripple.

Elle moved to NY in the winter of 2016 to pursue her career in acting even scoring a small extras role in the HBO show “The Deuce”. She decided to move back to Boston after 11 months to become a founder of Ripple.

James, a former Berkeley College of Music student and a respected bass player, brings in curated playlist and live music events, that is etched into the Ripple brand and atmosphere

Both Elle Marie and James continues to innovate new ideas in the world of coffee and third spaces. Not afraid of reinventing the dynamic of coffee and hang out spots. They both desire to bring all their inspired ideas into one place so everyone can enjoy.
